Tales from the Pool

As you know, we've been swimming a lot. This is where we go. Our fitness club pool. It has awesome water slides.

Here's our stuff.

Every two hours or so there is a safety break where kids have to get out of the pool. I'm sure you're familiar with this. So, here is Remy waiting patiently on the side.
He puts his feet in, but it's just torture, he contemplates the water...he wants in.
he decides the go for it and dips in!
and then looks around to see if anyone caught him.
Yes, Remy, we all saw you!

There's nothing better than a little water basketball. The boys LOVE it.

and then a storm heads in and ruins all our fun that day.

This is an automated post while we're out of town!
We'll be home soon with lots of fun posts about our trip to Houston!

Tell Remy he's lucky he's not at our pool. They do safety breaks every 45 minutes. For 15 minutes. I don't understand why. But they do. It's pure torture for the kiddos.

How's Houston?

Every 45 minutes? for 15 minutes? That is just WRONG! I feel for your kids. Whew. Ours are only every two hours...for only about 10 minutes.

BTW, I noticed you reclaimed your top commenter spot. :o)

Internet keeps going out here (at my sister's house) for the WHOLE DAY. I don't know if I'll have another chance online. I'm trying to autopost some to keep the blog going. I'm going nuts!! lol

Our pool does a "Life Guard Break" every hour for 5 minutes. It is torture for Hayden too. He just doesn't get it.

What an awesome fitness center!

And, bad Remy...so tempted!!! Did you show him that picture?

Rhea said...

Yes, I showed him the picture and he told me to erase it. hehe

He has no idea it's on the blog now. What he doesn't know won't hurt him....

hehe

That top photo reminds me of what my intestines must have looked like after a pop rocks and coke snack.*

*That is all I have to contribute.

Growing up, the local community pool only had two breaks a day to let the old people do their laps without children jumping on their heads attempting canonballs.

I miss those days ...

Wowee! That's one fancy pool! It looks like something from a water park! The pool we go to is, well, just a pool! My kiddos would love this! The storm clouds looks impressive as well!

I worked at a swimming pool and every 2 hours we would do an adult swim for 15 minutes. I remember catching all those little ones trying to sneak their way in the pool. If they were good kids, you just had to give them the eye and they would get out. I always thought it was cute.

Thanks for visiting by the way.

I still can't get over that this is a fitness club place and not a water fun park. Who knew getting healthy could be so much fun!!

I think I would actually go to my fitness center if it had slides like that!!
From a former lifeguard's perspective, "Adult Swim" (before "safety break") rocked!!

Looks Amazing!

Yes, the safetly break is also adult swim. Adults can be in the water swimming or doing whatever. It's pure torture for the kids. lol

Our county pools do that 15 minute break each hour. But I really don't understand why. There are a ton of life guards and they all rotate every 15ish minutes. So...they are getting breaks. Not sure why we need breaks. And when they take that 15 minutes...there is no one in the pool. Not even adults.

Now, our neighborhood pool is on the same time schedule. But adults can swim then.

Tell Remy to be very very thankful...

Oh, and what is really cool about our county pool (the one that I posted pics of from the Aqua benefit) is that they are still open during the day after school starts. So it's a homeschoolers dream. Or a dream for mom's with toddlers. You aren't run over by all the kids there with no supervision.

AND...because it's not really crowded. No safety breaks.

The expression on Remy's face when he realizes he's been busted is too cute!

those are awesome slides!! is there a height requirement?? we keep having this problem with my son... it is only 4, but he is about 46" and he wants to do EVERYTHING. and some thing he is too short for. :( poor kid. thankfully he will probably be big enough next year for EVERY. SINGLE. RIDE. his heart desires. :)

oh duh!!

I love the pics you got of Remy during the safety time. too cute!! :) And the basketball looks like good fun. We really need a big pool with slides and fun stuff around where we live, OR maybe we just need to move.

HOpe you are or had a great time in Houston. :)

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I don't love the breaks, though. How can you tell a 2yr old and 4yr old to get out of the water? They don't get it. Hope your trip is goign good and can't wait to see the pics!

Rhea said...

A lot of slides have 48 inch requirements, but the slides at our pool are 42 inches, I believe, so I don't have trouble with that with my boys.

We went to Splashtown yesterday here in Houston, and Remy had a tumble on the DEATH DROP. It was scary, because I was stuck up top and couldn't get to him. We ended up in the first aid station. :o(

That looks like Lifetime Fitness! They are building one close to our house very soon. Our neighborhood has three gorgeous pools but we don't have those slides.
And your breaks are every 2 hours??? Ours are every hour! Our kids would kill for the every two hour break! Or none at all!

Still jealous of your clearly superior pool facility. :-)

I'm moving in with YOU Rhea!!!
You have so much fun and so many adventures!!! lol

There's a public pool up the road... and all this time I've been whining that I want a pool in the yard!! ffs! lol
I'm easy pleased, I just want something to dip into!!
I couldn't care how cold it is!! lol

But I just thought about it, and thought 'hmm, maybe after the baby is born (so I don't have to buy new swimming clothes lol!) but then I thought, I'll need someone to come with me to help with BOTH kids! ARRGH!! Why do I take the fun out of my own ideas?
:(

lol

That is truly the most awesomest fitness center pool I have ever seen!!

It could (maybe) entice me to go there and actually contemplate working out....
