Dog-Earred Capitalism

I'm in love with Annie's ears.
Annie, my Labrador Retriever.

If I'm feeling stressed.
I pet her.
especially her ears.

They're so soft.
Unbelievably soft.
and silky.

I want to make a blanket out of them.
But that might send PETA after me.

And I'd hate to leave a bunch of ear-less dogs running around.
They'd look like alien dogs.

I thought about clipping Annie's ears off, maybe they'll regrow like a lizard's tail...
I need to carry her ears around in my pocket, like a lucky rabbit's foot.

I mean, where did the rabbit foot tradition start?

I might as well start a new one with dog ears...
But, Annie's particular about her looks, so I don't want to take her ears.

But, I promise, they are the softest thing ever.

If anyone's interested in starting a new avaunt guard business with me...just let me know.

Dogs have the softest ears.

Clearly this kitten agrees with me.

Ah, I love feeling those silky pup ears! I don't have a dog yet, so I have to settle for petting my pussies. I mean cats.

Sweet Olive has the softest ears, ever. I totally know what you're talking about, sooo relaxing to snuggle and pet their ears!

My kitties have soft ears. And really soft feet. Ella likes to cuddle. And she wants to get really close. I swear she is trying to crawl inside of me. My armpit is her attempted entry point. And when she finally gets herself settled. She purs. And snores at the same time. And then I can pet her ears. And feet. But if you try to pet them when she is not in "the" position...well...she might bite your ears and try to run off with them.

I've had this habit since childhood of getting really soft blankets, removing any border stitching/edging and holding the soft corner on my cheek as I fall asleep. I still do it to this day. I think I would definitely buy a dog's ear to carry around with me for comfort. If it weren't so gross and creepy sounding.

I agree dogs ears are good stress relievers.

Sounds odd but my HS sweetheart always said he wanted his puppies ears after they passed. Because they were so so so soft. And my labs ears are lovely to look at and softer to pet. So I totally understand. But there would be a doggie up rising if we started a clip and nip shop up. LOL

We don't have a dog yet. We still need to convince my hubby that we really, really need a dog. Now I can add stress relief by rubbing a dog's ears as a reason why!!

I'll give you that one. There is something about ears.

Start collecting what she sheds from her ears (if she does), you can have a fiber artist spin it with some soft wool and then knit you a pillow.

What is it about dog's ears?! Ugh I love them. And the hair right under the back of a cat's ear is the softest part, I swear. I'm equally a dog and cat person ;)

Sweet pics and great stress relief tip. I have a cat that is in-love with my husband. The jealous little B won't let me touch her. I think I need a dog. That will show her!

Yup, there's something soothing about rubbing soft doggy ears. I do it for me, she thinks I'm doing it for her. It's a great relationship!

Well, you know I could care less about dogs...but I LOVE Annie. Her ears, too.

And Jerry...that's Tiff's dog. He's so hardcore with his little Taco Bell self.
