I'm not really talking about Doors

I suddenly find myself obsessed with doors.

Kat, from Sunshine and Lemonade, my best blogger friend, asked me to help her come up with questions for her Friday Follies.

And I said, how about questions about Doors.

She thought I was nuts at first, I know.

But, doors are so cool.

Here are some I took pictures of in Mexico City.

Ciudad de Mexico.

We go in and out of doors all day, every day.
Do we notice them?

Do we appreciate our options?

The decisions involved in choosing which door to go through.
How do we choose the doors we choose?

Do we regret our choices?
Or make the best out of the direction we've chosen?

Some doors are deceptively run down...but lead to secret wonders.

And some are not doors at all, but facades.

Have you noticed, appreciated, focused on your doors lately?

This photo is so cool, because it shows the old and the new, all together.
On the right side is a newer, modern intercom, while on the left side is an old ring that people used to tie their horses to when visiting each other.

Have I been talking about doors?

What do you think I've been talking about?

At work, we have a thick coffee table book dedicated to doors around the world. I'm completely obsessed by it. It may have put a serious dent in my productivity.

I think that your life is changing and you are about to go through a new 'door'

Hey...I did not think that you were strange with your door questions. Even though I did suggest the "People are Strange" song :-)

And I love doors. Did you try and talk them down on the price of that door you looked at for Trade days?

And door metaphors are great. And I think that Jen is on to something...you are about to open a new door into your life. I think that what is behind it is pretty amazing...

I love doors also. In fact, my kids thought I was crazy because I said I wanted a new front door for Christmas! Door are a useful and practical obsession

"When a door closes, a window opens?"

Always my favorite reference to a door.

I have a new obsession with the top of a door being rounded. I would knock down my front facade and rebuild it with an arch, if Hubs would go for it.

I'm thinking not.

Really enjoyed the pictures. Beautiful.

Okay, this shit was too deep for me, but I'm guessing you're talking about choices. We can open the door and see what's behind it, or choose not to open the door, and never know what we missed. Am I even close?

Btw... all the doors in my house are ugly.

Justine :o )

Thanks for stoppin' by my blog. I've really enjoyed checkin' yours out. You have a great blog. I too love doors. I have quite a few pictures but not any neat mexico regional ones like you. Doors can make or break a house. I have a rounded front door in my house and I should probably refinish it (old home) but I can't stand the thought of changin' it in any way.

I just know a few people I'd like to kick thru The Doors.

Great pictures! There's something so satisfying about a door that could keep out a raging bull, right? :) Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Every time I visit, I'm struck by the ostentatious but at the same time beautiful nature of Mexican architecture. Beautiful shots, especially the last one! Hey, I tagged you for a Book Meme. This is SO up your alley, I KNEW you'd want to play along!

I think you're on two levels here. I think you're talking about literal and metaphorical doors. Cause you're cool that way.

I personally love the doors of New Orleans. They're stunning.
