And I love to go, take photos, browse and maybe buy a thing or two.
This is the coolest carved pelican I have ever seen.

This is the coolest carved pelican I have ever seen.
It's carved from the root of a tree in Indonesia.
Possibly a bamboo tree?
Isn't that awesome?
Grab a camera, photograph a critter, and join us for Camera Critters on the weekend!

Guess I am just a Yes (wo)man.
Very creative animal!
I like the wood carving...but the stringy part makes it look sickly :-)
I tried to leave you a comment on your uptake post - but after it ate my comment because I couldn't figure out the word verification thingie - TWICE - I gave up.
Just amazing what people can create. Great photo!
Cool carvings!
I played too :)
Just don't put it near the fire place.
Looks like something you would find over here.
Wow, he's cool! But he looks like he's lost some 'feahters'. Poor guy.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your lovely comment.

His bristly part looks like it's molting!
It's official - your pelican is a stroke of genius.
All the best for 2009 - I've been a slow starter because I was away on the west coast.

That's really neat. Some people have so much talent.
I love free (oops) flea markets. That would have been amazing.
Where have I been...this is a fun blog. :D
Garden Gnomes....hum! (Scratching the chin) I once fooled a friend into thinking I got my mom the seven dwarfs, but instead of the real faces we painted the grandchildren on each of them ...true story. I did end up telling the truth.
Lateral thinking critter. Great stuff.
That is certainly different! It looks new and old at the same time.
Great find.
That is so cool!

That's the coolest carved pelican I've ever seen too! Wait - I guess it's officially the only carved pelican I've ever seen... but it's still COOL!
Hi and thanks for dropping by the GritFX blog! Glad you think Ella is beautiful - evidence that I'm not totally bias :)
I noticed that your latest post says that "I don't really do many memes anymore" - I hope you will still be doing the camera critters one - this is a very original approach to the theme!
I was lucky to visit Bali years, and years ago, and when I was there, I was captivated by the talent that carvers have - start with a block of wood and end up with something magic - I have great admiration for that!
