A Secret Mission at The Creek

A couple of weeks ago, we headed to our neighborhood creek.

The boys and Annie needed to get out of the house on a Saturday morning.

And I had a secret project in mind.

Are you following along?

Here we go, we've arrived!!

I brought my nieces here last time they visited, and they left covered in mud.

The boys explored a little.

And despite the temperature, Annie ended up in the water.
Crazy dog!

Our mission at the creek? To gather rocks.

I'll tell you why tomorrow.

There are lots of rocks at the creek.

Why do you think we were gathering rocks?
Do you take your children to a creek?

I'm guessing you have a christmas project with the rocks. No creeks here, just ocean.

We have the creek in our backyard. The girls were down there all the time last summer when we first moved in. And this summer...not so much. But we don't have all those rocks by ours. We have huge boulders :-)

And I have NO clue as to what you are going to do with those rocks. I am guessing that it has nothing to do with glass houses...

Our kids love the creek. They actually leave their cell phones and play. and ya know they can't do anything without their phones.

Creeks are always fun, but we don't really have any nearby. I am guessing that you are using the rocks for a project of some sort. Home decorating or for Christmas?

I'm guessing it's for a holiday decoration or holiday related project of some sort?

You've been tagged!

You're building an alien testing facility in the backyard.

And yep, we fish in a creek. It's an old Indian creek. It's pretty cool.

I have no idea what the rocks are for. But you have me very intrigued...

No, I don't take my girls to a creek. I'm not very outdoors-y. I was when I was little... but now? Not so much. This would be something for them to do with their Daddy :)

We love the creek! But usually it's lakes we go to.
I'm guessing the rocks have something to do with a Christmas project.

Rocks are the only thing the boys are getting in their Christmas stockings?

Nope, no creeks around me. Just the one in my neck right now. Or is that crick. The rocks? Some decoration for Christmas perhaps?

I miss gathering creek rocks .. I think next summer I need to go exploring for one around here.

I'm jealous that you still have green stuff .. and seeing your boys in sweatshirts makes me realize how cold it is in here =-)

But I can't wait to see what you're doing with those rocks!

I've said it before ... but, you have the prettiest places near your home. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the rocks :-)

I don't have a creek. How about the Hudson River.

Rocks. Hmm... Are you building a christmas tree out of rocks?

If it was my house, we'd be collecting rocks to put in stockings. You know...just in case you're naughty.

We have creeks and an ocean. I think you are rock painting, at least that is what I would do with those gorgeous rocks. In case you didn't know, I'm addicted to rocks. Seriously. i have a rock shop and everything, it's like a sickness

My 6 year old gathers rocks every where she goes...and not the cool creek bed rocks..she picks up gravel.

My 8 year old then takes the bigger ones and makes pet rocks, so my guess will be you are gonna make some spiffy new friends!

I used to go to Bull Creek all the time when I was a kid...glad to see folks are passing it down!

You are collecting rocks in an effort to be the one to re-energize the Pet Rock movement. Retro is in!!!

We go to creeks, rivers, lakes... and we collect rocks.. and we put them in our pockets.. and I forget they are there... and everything we own ends up stone washed.

Rocks are the new gemstones??? I don't know, can't wait to see, though. I love walks to the creek.

The creek that's closest to my house......I wouldn't send my worst enemy into that water. BAD BAD BAD water. I know, how in the heck can a creek be bad? Well I have no idea. It just looks dirty and yuck!

Hmmm gathering rocks to make a volcano project?

Happy Monday

No creeks near our house - but my daughter LOVES to collect rocks and leaves. I am always fishing them out of my washer!

Our creeks all dry up in no time. I wish we had a creek, though. I grew up near one and I remember exploring alot.

Thanks for my little taste of Texas! I moved from the Grapevine, Euless, Colleyville area in May to Phoenix and I MISS Texas so much. I could just feel that cold air.... Have a blessed Christmas!

it would not be a good thing to take my kids to a creek. Everyone, well maybe not Claire, would end up in the water no matter how cold it was.
Are the rocks for some Christmas decorations? I can't wait to find out.

I grew up with a spring fed creek in my backyard. I spent many hours in and around it. :)

To throw through someone's window that you're pissed at?

No creeks here. But yours is pretty.

All I can think of is a project of some sort. I'm not so creative.
We don't have any creeks close by, I wish we did.

Ooh, that looks like such a pretty place to explore! Why didn't you call and ask me to come with?
