Every night, as the sun goes down...
Annie gets excited.
Some animal, a critter of some sort, threatens the safety of our backyard.
Annie stands guard at the back doors...

Annie stands guard at the back doors...
She'll race outside, chase something around (maybe a moth?),
then come back and stand guard at the door.
She's vigilant.
She's protecting her family.

Do we really have something dangerous in the backyard?
I don't know.
But it's the thought that counts, right?
I probably shouldn't mention that our sweet Annie runs in fright from my mom's cat.
She's brave. Really.
I don't know.

Well, even if she don't attack...
Atleast she lets you know there is something there, right?
She is such a good girl.. bless her little puppy dog heart.
Good to have a watch dog. You never know those yard fairies may decide to invade. Our lovely CHIP sleeps at the door regularly to keep us safe.
I bet if she felt you were being threatened, she'd be quite brave.
What a relief to have her standing guard! Maybe we should get a dog?
That always scares the crap out of me when Trixie will just start barking and I can't see anything. I'm just waiting for the monster to jump at the window and scare me to death.
Good Girl Annie.
She's selectively brave. That counts. Or maybe Non-frightened challenged? There must be some PC term that'll work.
Ours does the same thing. He barks at air. For real.
At least she's not having to go chase the giant rats in the backyard like my sister-in-law's dog. Ugh.
She is so freakin' cute. My kitties are brave too. Standing guard at the windows just in case squirrels decide to attack. But...get out the remote controlled mouse...and they run for the hills.
hahhahahaa our dogs must be related. Save me from the truck parked across the street, but die shaking and quivering from blowing leaves. heheheheh
Aw, Annie .. it is the thought that counts!
My dog, Tobey, is always freaking me out. Growling at things I can't see or hear .. I keep forgetting that he's slightly unreliable in the guard dog catagory :-)
Maybe she runs out there to chase her tail without anyone watching her???
HAPPY MONDAY

Aw, she's protecting you from the unknown. Racoons, 'possum, and even some ghosties maybe!
Justine :o )
our dog is the same way!! Looks just the same too!
Sometimes we have deer in our back yard but that's it.
My dog is sort of the same. All bark and fluff on the inside. But last Christmas, he became very unhappy: growling, pacing, hair raised down the middle of his back. He was so upset, my daughter called the police (I was at work). They found someone who'd tried breaking into my neighbor's house behind ours. Good Duke Dog.
My cocker spaniel sounds like a Doberman when people come to the door. She would sooner lick someone to death that bite them and the barking is kind of annoying when I know it is someone I know coming to the door, but it is comforting when my husband is working night shift or out of town.
Awww she's such a cutie--got to love those dogs protecting us from those evil monsters outside!
Oh that is so funny. We have a vicious bunny in our yard. Our Sydney can't wait to run out there and bark the bunny away!
Funny. We have a Llasa Apso which was supposedly a guard dog in Tibet. Not my dog, but the breed :) I always laugh that this tiny dog guarded anything. Then again, he barks at anything going by including the neighbors so maybe that was helpful back then.
What a sweet girl!
It is the thought that counts!
What if its the Cullens???
LOL how cute is she! Maybe it's an Armadillo, our cats hear those and get freaky.
Awwww such a great dog. We had a great guard dog (Abby), she went missing around Halloween. Since she's been gone we've had hawks killing chickens, a fox in the backyard and last night my husband's nephew which lives next door had a bobcat in their carport hiss at them, scary I know!
I noticed on your comment on SITS your traveling tomorrow, hope you have a safe trip!
She is cute..what a great protecter!!!
cute pictures!

This is just too cute! I'm new here and just wanted to say hello! :o)
Aw--she's a good girl!
We need a real watchdog... ours just barks. Napoleon syndrome or something.
I love the posts about Annie!
I have two rabid monkeys to protect me.
Annie is such a good doggie! I'm sure there's something back there! Get it Annie!
Cats are scary. Nothing to be ashamed of.
My dogs bark at the wind and their reflections in the window.
LOL! My Penelope is like an attack dog with cats, but is terrified of rodents. Go figure.
We can tell when there are critters about, when the cat starts sculking around! Hey, I'm Sharing Some Linky Love with you over at my place...please come Check. It. Out!
gotta love Annie!! that is cute that she is protector of the house. even of moths and such!! :)
xxoxoxoxx
I think it's vampires.
*grin*
Annie is a good protector. Mine would first show the intruder where the cookies are and then the "valuables". Love your blog and your cute dog
