I bet you didn't know I was a soccer superstar? Yep, I was. I began my high profile career as a soccer model. It started when I was young, four or five...here's my proof, me playing/posing with a ball:
I proceeded to join, I mean was recruited, to an actual team when I got to elementary age. I was one of only two girls on an all-boys' team, and our team won their age group. We had our names in the paper and got big trophies! I have a newspaper clipping and photo to prove it...in my files somewhere. The media loved me. I'm followed by paparazzi.
Then, in high school I played...until I injurred my knee. I tore something and was out for a while. That only sidelined my career briefly. I was on my way to success...
Eventually I was recruited to be a coach for an all-star team, and I decided to retire...other players needed my genius. So, I became coach of The Dragons...
And, there's my successful soccer superstar career...you just have to want it bad enough (or believe it enough inside your own little reality) to make it happen! Wouldn't Becks and I make a cute couple?

Hi Rhea thanks for dropping by my blog and taking the time to comment.
I winced when you said you'd injured your knee - I know all about knees! Thankfully you didn't sustain any lasting damage. My friend used to play football for a ladies team when she was younger - she's 67 now but still sprightly. Becks is gorgeous isn't he?
I hope you'll come and see me again sometime. :)
We just signed our kids up for another year of fall soccer. It's a religion around here.
That Beckham sure is a cutie. But that wife of his....she's gotta go!
Hey, Akelamalu! I found your site through Jeff's, I think. No lasting damage to my knee, but it acts up occasionally. Wow about your lady friend playing football. That's hard on the body.
Becks IS gorgeous! Nice to look at. Thanks for coming by.
Uberburber - That seems early to sign kids up for the fall! We don't have our fall sign up yet, but both my boys plan on signing up as well.
I'm not sure what to think about Posh Spice. She's kind of weird, but I've liked her in the interviews I saw...
Thanks for coming by!
Cute post! :D I was a Field Hockey superstar! ;P I wish I could coach here in Utah but they don't have Field Hockey!!! Glad you have something fun like that!
I never did the team sports so much, but skateboarding...that's another story.
Love that first picture BTW
Crazy4Danes - I always wanted to play field hockey in high school, it looked like so much fun, but my mom would have made me wear safety goggles, and I just wouldn't!
Jeff - Thanks! I was such a little punk. Skateboarding is awesome...I've never tried it..I don't think I have the grace for it. I'm a clutz.
I was just so gifted in softball that they didn't want me to play for fear of embarrassing the other children. Sooo I stopped playing and eventually took up coaching softball for my middle child. My Daddy always laughed because I could never play, but I was pretty good coach. We won county one year!
lol I played soccer at primary school becasue I didn't wasnt o play netball. Years later I met one of theboys from my primary school and he had never forgotten that a girl had scored against him....I had forgotten but he hadn't.
A few years ago I was involved in a kids soccer team and eventually became the club secreary and finally the chairperson before I quit about 18 months ago it feels like a life time ago, but I won't forget the feeling of being a part of that club and being able to do something for the kids. My greatest acheivement was being team manager the day our team won 19 - 3 (our manager had gone to another club and none of the dads including an ex professional wanted to manage the team so they left it to me.) There is a framed newspaper write up on the wall in the Club House.
You do NOT make a good couple with Becks...I do!! LOL
Valarie - Too good to play, huh? Sounds like you figured out MY secret (the making it a reality in your head thing). lol Awesome about the coaching and winning county though!
Lady in Red - That's hilarious about the boy who never forgot a girl who scored against him. Boy did he have some baggage!! That's awesome about the team manager bit. Such a good feeling!
Chatti Patty - Are we going to have to fight for him? lol Actually, this current Bachelor on the TV show is pretty hot too...I'd take him.
Oh my god, Rhea...that first photo of you is SOOOO damn cute!!!
(and YES...you and Becks would have made a cute couple)
I just think it's too COOL that you COACH!
You GO, GIRL!!!!
P.S. In high school, I excelled in things like...YO-YO'S!
Oh...how cute! I am so not a sports person. Bench warming is more my forte. And my poor children...it's apparently genetic. They have both played soccer. They liked the practices because they played games...but when it came time for the actual game, ummm...they much prefered looking for four leaf clovers to actually paying attention.
Now swimming...that they can do well.
Ron - Thanks! I'm not a regular soccer coach. We are new here (just moved from Austin) and we signing up late for soccer season this last fall, so the only way to get my then 5 yr old registered was to agree to coach a team to pull more kids off the waiting list.
So, I was bribed into doing it! It ended up being a lot of fun, although I'm not sure I'd want to do it again...
Glad you were good at yo-yoing...you never know when those skills might be needed again! lol
Kat - Thanks! I'm already in withdrawl and missing your blog! Have a BLAST on your cruise.
