Random Scrap & Rabbit Trails

I got summoned to jury duty. It isn't perjury to lie on that form you have to fill out, is it?

I think maybe I told them I was disabled...and had fifteen children.

Can I wear my cowboy boots in a courtroom? And my cowboy hat?

Can I blog about it?!

I'm thinking they don't need me in a courtroom.
I don't think I could contain myself.

Sometimes at work our database moves soooo slow that I want to scream
and pull my hair out in frustration...

but I actually work with someone who lost all her hair (rather mysteriously)
so that seems insensitive of me to say that.

But really, maybe, out of everyone, she might understand the best.

I really wouldn't look good bald.

My husband let our 7 yr old see some scary movie,
and now Remy won't go into a room alone.

I've tried to explain that monsters aren't real.
But Remy isn't buying it.

I think I have a solution.
I'm going to tear down all our walls so our house is just one big room.

Yeah, that'll work...I'm sure our landlord won't mind.

I got called for jury duty something like 6 times when I lived in Colorado, and never actually had to serve. I think you should totally go in wearing boots and a hat!! ;)

PS...love the bunnies!

It's not actually that hard to get out of jury duty. Just have a doctor certify that you have Narcolepsy (sleeping sickness). I actually do have it so I am permanently excused from jury duty. Which is a good thing because I couldn't sit there and listen to lawyers drone on for even an hour, let alone all day.

I have been called for jury duty more times than anyone should be called. But it has been a long time. Knock wood.

And Remy. Madalyn is easily frightened. One day my mom let her watch Forensic files with her. Madalyn dubbed it the murder show. And now she is quite certain that we will all be killed in our beds. How do you deal with that fear...when the murders were real?!

I love your stream of consciousness self. And the multi-colored bunnies.

I've never been called on jury duty and strangely enough I wish I would be. It would be a break from the monkeys at home. Do they pay?

I've been called for jury duty and acutually loved it... other than getting strep throat.

My brother was summoned for jury duty while he was still in his senior year of high school. On the form was a place to mark that he was a full-time student or something to that effect, so that he could be excused from serving. But there was another reason listed on the form... and my dad totally wanted my brother to mark it:

"Reason for being excused from jury duty: I am a habitual drunkard"

Oh please wear your hat, it'll brighten everyones day and yes I think a vague blog post is ok.

I did jury duty a few years back, and sooooooo wish I'd owned a laptop and a blog at that time. Spent much more time waiting than anything else? But I'd check the courthouse rules before you do anything too rash...especially wearing your cowboy paraphernalia!

jury duty? Ehhhh, hopefully I'll never be called!
I love the rabbits.
When my oldest was little she just looked at the cover of a VHS tape of The Chainsaw Massacre..... Had nightmares for weeks! Now she loves scary movies but watched them between her fingers. :)

Guuuurl, wear those boots. And hat. And sling a shotgun over your shoulder. They'll want you fosho.

I will never get to do jury duty, not a citizen of the USA. Though, they keep sending me voter registration forms??? Maybe it will be an interesting case!

For years I had used the reason of having young children with no one else available to help with them and was excused for Jury Duty for many many years just by writing it on the form and sending it back in.
I think it was the year before last I finally had to go as my son was like 14 and my daughter 23. But because I drive my daughter to all her appts. for herself and her son, I did ask if I would have to serve for more than one day as Alex had a Doc appt. the next day. They said ONE day was all that was required, and if I was chosen to be interviewed there comes a point in the questioning that you are asked if there's any reason you can't do a whole trial. That's when I would be given a chance to explain. Fair enough. So I sat with all the other potential jurors for a few hours and then sometime right after lunch they must have reached a settlement on the case and let everyone go!!
I'm not sure what the time frame is... that you can be called on again in 3 years? Or maybe it's 5?
