If You Give a Girl a Blog...

She'll talk about ANYTHING.

First, I want to say, no matter whose candidate won or lost, let's all remember to be graceful winners and not gloat if you voted for Obama...and not to be a sore loser if you voted for McCain.

We need to remember to be respectful of the Office of the United States President, no matter who it is, whether you voted for him or not.

We need to all come together.
Elections are fun and exciting, but they do often pit people against each other.
I for one am glad it's done with and we can work on coming together as a nation once again.

November is Prematurity Awareness Month.
I didn't know until Darcy from Life with My 3 Boybarians told me.

Did you know that one out of every eight babies is born premature?!
I'm just asking that you be aware of this. That's all.

My Remy was born early...only a couple of weeks, which isn't bad, but he did have trouble keeping his own body temp up for a while.
Everything turned out ok.
thank goodness.

Speaking of Remy...

Here he is, my little monkey

I'm so thankful he can climb.

And I'm thankful he can read.

Even if he ends up doing most his homework on the football fields while Donny plays.

And speaking of Donny...

Remember how proud of him I have been?

Well, this was his reward ...
a new cell phone.

He doesn't call anyone, except for me.
But, he does text with friends some.

We'll see if he's responsible enough not to loose it.

Did you know that almost 300 years ago, this building was built?

Did you know that we have bawdy pub wenches in Texas?

Please leave comments at the Uptake Attractions blog if you have a moment.

Where do your children usually do their homework?
Where did you do your homework as a child?
Have you ever visited the two places I have linked to above?

Amen sister. I hope all of the stupid name calling and fighting stops now.

I have only been to the Alamo. We live very near the RF now, but don't know if we will be going this year.

I hope this country can come together at last. The hate bothered me so much.

Light of my life does her homework at a desk in her room.

I did mine in the living room on the floor or at the dining room table.

And I have never been to either of those places.

Wait, I lied. I HAVE been to the Alamo. I had just forgotten about it til now. Wow.

Two of my sisters & niece had babies premature. Out of 8....3 passed away. It' so sad!

I've never been to the Alamo...I would like to go! Oh, I'm rhyming!

Well said, Rhea. The kids don't really have homework yet since they're too young. If I take the family to the Alamo, can we stay at your place?

I don't have kids but I remember I would do homework on my bed at home. That is when I actually did homework. And that's great what you said about the election! Well put!

Woah, the kid is like 10 years old (??) with a cell phone? ....Kids these days! ;)

That intro was well said!

We did our homework any number of places. We did have a playroom with desks and all but I don't think we really used it as much as we should have. I still feel guilty about it to this day. I am weird.

The hatred has been horrible! So glad it's over. All of my kids were premature. They last two were severly premature. over 2 months, perhaps I will post about it. My kids do there homework anyplace they can, at the gym, on the field...wherever. As long as it gets done. :)

In the kitchen.
In my room.
No, never been to either.
And yes, I am glad the election is over!!!
Now, let's get on with it!

i worked for the march of dimes, and if you're in an area where they do a walkamerica, DO IT. it's way fun, and your donations really help to raise money for research of premature birth and birth defects, it's a great organization!

Libbey was one month early...she was a teeny tiny blessing.

I never did homework. If I had any, I did it in homeroom the following morning. Seriously.

Libbey does hers in the kitchen...with me right next to her. I love how much homework 1st graders have. Sigh...

Intro to this post was definitely awesome and the only time I actually comment on anything election related is when it's something like this. I agree with you 100%.

I did my homework on my bed growing up. My girls do their homework at the kitchen table. I haven't visited the places you linked...yet.

My twins were premature. It's great to have awareness!

Love the Alamo - have yet to find the basement though.

My neice and nephew were premature at 30 1/2 weeks - they thrive today because of the care they received.

I love March of Dimes and their Newborn Screening Awareness - the Youngest is healthy because of it.

If any of you all are pregnant, planning to be or have friends whom are - please visit marchofdimes.com and find out your state's specific Newborn Screening information.

Your child's health may depend on that one heel stick.

I agree with you whole-heartedly. We all need to come together.

Really? You're glad it's over? I was hoping for some more campaign ads! There aren't enough commercials on tv anymore!!!

I am ready for some unity in this country!

My kids do homework just where I did, at the dining room table with an after-school snack.

I have been to neither the RF or the Alamo. Which is just absurd considering I've lived in Texas for 8+ years now. I think I'll put them on my "to do" list for the new year.

My daughter always does her homework at the dining room table. If she doesn't do it there too many other things capture her attention. Since she has the attention span of a gnat ... it's best to keep at least the location VERY boring.

I've only been to Texas a couple of times. dallas and Houston (to visit a bloggy friend).

If I have to hear more gloating or sulkers I will cry.

You rock for posting about PAM. Preemies have such a tough go. Thank you for letting your readers know. I could kiss you.

And if you give a girl the opportunity to comment, she will comment about ANYTHING. For example, I am doing the pee-pee dance in my chair right now because I can't seem to just get up and move away from the computer so that I can go down the hall and "powder my nose".

hi, Rhea - I like the first part of your post. people need to get a little classier and respectful. both candidates gave great speeches last night. (they both looked really tired, too!)

thanks for watching over me - angel that you are. and thanks for reminding me about being thankful (about our boys). I posted!!!

Very glad that the election is over.
I did my homework at the library or sitting on the floor of the living room.
My kids do their homework at the kitchen table or on the computer.
March of Dimes is a very good cause. My last baby was a month early, spent his first day in the nicu because I am diabetic and they had to check him out, he was the biggest baby there - 9lbs! I know that October is over with, but because I was travelling I didn't blog about it, but along with October being breast cancer awareness month, it is also Infant and pregnancy loss awareness month. October 15th specifically being set aside for remembrance.
Sorry for taking up so much time!

I gave Sienna some homework but all she does is sleep, sleep, sleep. Lazy girl.

Thanks for the premature link. Unforunately, my aunt's struggled with this all her life, in and out of hospitals and jobs as they cut her loose.

My kiddos do their homework at the kitchen table, same place their mama did it when she was a kid! And thanks for the sentiments on the election. I was really pleased the way both candidates handled yesterday. Did you notice the poetic way each man's speech mirrored the other? I have to say, I had an extra bounce in my step today because of that. I have hope. That's enough for now.

I love it when you ask questions at the bottom of your posts. Nope, never been to TX, but sure would love to visit Austin some day. I've heard it's a super cool place to live.

My kids either do their homework at the kitchen table, in their rooms, or at the coffee table in the family room. Once in a while they'll do it sitting on the driveway.
I think I usually did my homework at the kitchen table, but would you believe I can't really remember???????

Who knew kids had homework in kindergarten? Ry does his homework at the kitchen table so I can help him.

I have got to get to the Alamo, it has been one of my goals since immigrating to America!
Growing up in Rome, I somehow became fascinated with Texas and really really wanted to live in Dallas (in my idealized mind it was a place of wonders).
I don't live in Texas now, or I should say not yet, but next time I can I am taking my six kids to see the Alamo...
:)

Great post! Yes, let the healing begin... ;).

And is it too early? Can I yell this now? Has everyone read this post??

REMEMBER THE ALAMO!!

I haven't been there, but I'm gonna go. Someday. It's in my blood.

My girls were both late. Katie was 14 days late...and Madalyn was a week late. Maybe if I had a third it would be on time :-) But that experiment is so not happening!

Katie doesn't have homework - she does all her school work in the basement at her desk. Or in the play room on the table. Or on the floor. Or at the coffee table. Or at the kitchen table. Or whereever I might be so that she can talk to me and avoid doing what she is supposed to be doing.

Madalyn does her school work wherever I am...right after she walks in the door.

Me? I don't rememmber!! I think I avoided homework. And did it at school on the morning that it was due :-)

I really hope that everybody stops the fighting and moves on.

My son does his homework either in his bedroom or at the dining table ... depends on his attention span that day.

No I haven't visited either of those places.
