The C-Word.

I think you know what word I'm talking about.

It's a word that brings to mind green and red, pine trees and jolly old men in suits...

I'm not ready for it.

Family members are starting to ask what the boys would like, gift-wise. That means I need to start figuring out good ideas...putting my thinking cap on and getting creative.

I think a lot of my brain power has been geared towards other things lately. Am I ready to switch gears? Move into holiday-mode?

I love giving gifts, and I really try to think of things the people in my life will truly enjoy.

I've had trouble getting into the c-word mood so far.

I guess because there's been this other little issue I need to deal with first...

it's called...

THANKSGIVING!!

One holiday at a time. It's how I roll.

and silly me, I thought you were going to cuss...

I can't believe the stores are ALL full of x-mas stuff already. There should be a rule about NOT rushing holidays

I want to decorate but I don't want the mess of decorating.. We have started to buy a few things but we aren't getting very far..

Phew. I'm so glad it's that word and not the OTHER word. I can't stomach that word. I am peeing my pants for Christmas though!!

I am so with you. Lets just get through Thanksgiving and then think about Christmas.

My mind is in the gutter. Seriously.

Glad you were referring to Christmas and not something else I was thinking about.

I have a tree up, but no ornaments just yet. I have pumpkins still out, but no tinsle. It's hard, I still want all my Thanksgiving stuff up, but I need to put the other stuff up to, So right now the house looks like two holidays threw up in here. :)

D'oh! I have to get my ladder out! It's time to put the lights up! I need to buy NEW lights! Sigh. I've gotta put my C-face on too.

I agree, Christmas should not be allowed to bulldoze Thanksgiving (or Halloween for that matter).

I'm with ya on that one!!
Christmas was in the stores before Halloween was over.
How can I think about Santa Claus when I've got vampires and ghosts staring at me?

Oh man, do I hear you! My MIL has asked me over and over again what she should get the kids for Christmas. I have no idea! I don't even know what I'm getting them yet...

I am not ready for this at all!

I will be ready for Christmas...on FRIDAY. Thank you.

I have a very, very, very special picture to share with you. And the rest of our blogging world. It will appear tomorrow or Tuesday. It's very special...even more than an afterschool special. You'll see.

The wait is gonna kill you, huh?

Well, like some of your other readers, a different C-word sprang readily to mind. So glad it wasn't that one!

My exam is December 3. We'll start prep after that is done. 'Cause I can't handle it right now.

I'm with you on this one, we never do anything for Christmas until Thanksgiving is done and over with.

I just spent 2 hours on my roof stringing up my Xmas lights. Damn neighbour was putting up his when I got home yesterday. Our Thanksgiving is long gone.

I acutally sometimes enjoy Turkey Day more than Christmas. Seems to be less pressure, plus we don't have the crowds that we do in December!

I hear ya!!!! I am at the same point.. everyone keeps asking me what the girls want for Christmas.. My answer EVERYTHING!
I hope things are better for you!! I have been thinking about you.

Not ready for the c-word (which I also thought was a bad word) but definitely ready for lights on top of my roof which I am hoping the husband will put up between his deployments
:)
how about that interview? Will you come on my radio show? it's fun..:)

Personally I'm ready to put up my (fishnet) stocking. TG is boooring. Who cares about a bunch of Turkey Worshipping Indians. It's unchristian. Christmas is a holiday that both I and my platinum card can really get behind. The sooner the better. In fact I put some festive red and green bells on my Papillion pup Pucci this am to cheer her up and get her in the spirit!

I am SO with you on this. I totally need to enjoy my turkey and stuffing (oh and pumpkin pie!) before I can move on to ALL the Cmas stuff!

I do think the Christmas rush started a bit earlier than usual this year...

but I'm finding it hard not to get into the spirit already! I've listed to some Christmas music. And most of my shopping is done. A few gifts may even already be wrapped...

I know! Everything is happening so fast and Thanksgiving isn't even here yet!!

Burfica said...

I start my shopping in July, but I agree, I don't stress or worry to hard until after thanksgiving.

I have to use Thanksgiving to get ready for EXAMS, Christmas comes after exams...or nothing gets done around here.

Keys to the Magic Travel said...

I would like one at a time, too. There is no reason that I should have to hunt at Tar-jay to find Thanksgiving plates. And why can't I find brining stuff there?

But shopping...I've been doing that all year.

Oh, and I am so glad that I am not the only one who thought you were going to go in a different direction with the C word :-)

Live.Love.Eat said...

Until your 2nd sentence quite a few words came to mind. Whew!!!!!!!!! But yes, once Friday hits I am all on it! I do admit I already have been obsessing over Xmas & have been planning my menu.

I know. Poor, poor Thanksgiving. It's the red-headed step child of holidays.
