It's not ideal to sleep in a twin bed with a large dog.

Yesterday, both my boys stayed home from school. I was suspicious.

I sent out a twitter...was this suspicious? Or contagious?

Turns out, contagious.

One has had blasting diarrhea, the other has thrown up and has a fever.
My bathroom looks like a crime scene.
Then I felt icky and realized I had a fever.

It made for a long day.

Then, last night, oh, what can I say about last night.
I ended up in a twin-sized bed with the 89 pound dog, Annie.
She snores, she takes up a lot of room and she changes position every half hour.

At 3am, I had to move to the den floor, with Annie, to keep one child company.
long story.
at 4am one child freaked out because he couldn't find me, and I moved back to the master bed.
at 5am we talked about heading to the ER. (we didn't)
at 6am we had family bonding.
at7am, I was back in bed.

Today, both kids are home again. Still sick. My sanity is lost. I'm a walking zombie. And the worry doesn't turn off...when the kids are sick, I worry.

I had something else to post about, but I've completely forgotten what it was.
I have a lot of laundry and cleaning to do today.
I started seeing a therapist yesterday.
My new goal is to work on me.
Did you know that in this day and age, some people still don't believe in therapy?
I think it almost always is beneficial.
I think everyone should experience it.
Do you agree? Or do you think I'm off my rocker?

No, I think therapy is very beneficial.

I hate having a sick kid, too. It freaks me out.

Was I really first! Oh, wow!

Aww, hope you all feel better soon... that's just icky and way worse when everyone is sick at the same time! Ugh. Sorry.

And hey, therapy can be beneficial :)

I am not a good sick kid mommy :( I hope they feel better soon.

Nothing wrong with therapy, I could use some myself :D

I just can't get over the fact of telling some stranger all my inner most worries and secrets. That's why Blog. And so far you guys don't think I'm nuts. Do you?

I'm sure my day is coming when the Blog is no longer my therapeautic source and I will need to really go.

Hope those boys get better soon.

*Hugs* I hope you start feeling better soon, and the boys as well. Thanks for stopping by my blog and letting me know about the no breaks in my post- I fixed it up so hopefully no one else will have that problem.
I think therapy, prescriptions, anything that makes you feel better can only be a good thing- I don't know very many people who think it is still taboo, and those that do I'm not so sure I'd value their opionion, how is feeling better a bad thing?

Oh dear... Sick kids is bad enough, but for you to join in is just awful :(
I hope that everyone starts feeling better. Maybe a little Edward would help? ;)
Meanwhile... I definitely agree. Therapy can be an extremely rewarding and beneficial experience. I'm glad you're taking the time and money to take care of you :)

I'm with Kori though.. I use my blog for Therapy... it's cheaper and you guys are WAY funner than a therapist..

IE - My therapist wouldn't invite me to spend thanksgiving with them....

I am sorry that you and the kids are sick. I hope it passes quickly.
And I think that therapy is great b/c your self is that only thing that you can really change which may lead to others changing too.

My idea of therapy:

A two week all expense paid vacation to Cancun with my wife.

Yea, that'd pretty much do it for me.

Ugh. I am so sorry that the boys are sick. That you have to clean. That you are not feeling well. That you are not sleeping well. {{Hugs}}

When I was in grad school - one of the projects we did was for NIMH. About why people don't use the mental health programs that are available. We did field work in a small town in West Virginia. In a major metro area - Atlanta. And in Costa Rica. And the stigma assoicated with it was so strange. Even people that had mental health issues - or family memebers with them - they would tell us the problem - but refused to classify them as such.

I think that we are just in a period of "transition" of it becoming more common place. Of it becoming more open. And people are finally beginning to embrace seeking help for themselves.

You really didn't need that disseration did you? Sorry :-)

I think my therapy is blogging and peanut m&ms. It is evident in the expanse of my ass.

I'm with Kat - does chocolate count as therapy? I've never experienced real therapy - you know, with a therapist and all - but seems like it could be very helpful for anyone.

How rude of me: I didn't even tell you to get well soon. Hope you and the boys are feeling better!

Oh, Ick on the blasting diarrhea...

I know so many people who love going to therapy... I'm sure I'll give it a try one of these days..

You may be off your rocker but NOT for seeing a therapist :) I do hope you all get better!!!!! Good thing you got it out of the way for Thanksgiving,

Oh dear! I'm sorry you are all sick. That really sucks. Hope you all feel better soon.

As to therapy, I think it can be beneficial, depending on the therapist and the willingness of the person being seen. If you work well together, then therapy is likely to be beneficial.

My daughter has been sick the last 2 days and now I have it:-( And, I am entertaining this weekend. Pray for me.

Go therapy!! I go and love it!!

I hate it when the family is sick. I hope everybody is feeling better soon.

I think therapy is a wonderful idea. We all need a little help now and then to sort out the mess in our heads. I think we try to cram way too much in there and lose ourselves in the process.

Hope you all feel better soon. We are all sick up here and are feeling your pain.

Therapy? Why the heck not? An hour in a room with nobody asking you to do anything for them? Good stuff.

Britt said...

Aw, hope you all feel better soon! Stomach flu blows .. quite literally at times.

I had to laugh out loud at Only A Movie's comment .. I would only add, doing nothing but talk .. heck yeah. I think it would be interesting. Especially since my husband calls me Dr. Phil .. I'm an analyzer, and a people reader. So it'd be interesting, sitting in a room with someone reading me, while I'm reading them reading me.

Therapy is my favorite! I almost feel guilty about paying her, if she wasn't my therapist she'd be one of my best friends:-)

I am a complete freak when my kids are sick, especially my son. But, for good reason since he gets hospitalized a lot and that's always in the back of my mind.

Therapy rocks. I wish we had good insurance so I could get one for free!

Get Better soon!

And, I have thrice tried marriage counseling. Every time, it didn't work because there were too many external factors which sabotaged its success: finding a daytime babysitter, finding a counselor nearby our house that is actually on our insurance plan, coordinating everyones schedule, and MOST IMPORTANLTY not being made to wait in the waiting room for more than 15 minutes. But, good luck with your person. I think they help.

My mom and my sister are both therapists - I have been in therapy for many years (on and off) in Italy and here in the US. I think it always helps and makes anyone more aware of who they are and what issues they are dealing with.

I hate it when my kids are sick, I worry so much that something terrible will mind goes more reason why I need to stay in therapy

And I thought I'd had a bad day. Sheesh.

Hope you are all feeling better soon! Remember, Lysol and Clorox are your friends! Use them much!

And I do not think you are off your rocker at all.

I think if you find a good therapist, it's good to talk to someone else who is objective. I've gone to counseling and it definitely helped me.

I hope you and the kids feel better soon! Uhg. Nothing worse than being sick AND being the caregiver. Heh.

YES. Therapy is amazing. My former mentor convinced me that you don't have to be 'sick' or 'crazy' to see a therapist, any more than you have to be injured to get a massage. Sometimes, it just feels good. Totally changed my outlook, heh.

Therapy can be a great tool for healing and learning. Good job for you to know to use that tool.

So sorry you are sick and worse yet that your kids are sick at the same time. Hope you get feeling better so.

I'll all for therapy. Helps you to get all those loose ends together.

I think therapy is a good thing, even for those who don't think they need it!

Hope the kids are better...I hate it when my babes are ill. :(

Aww. Sorry your kids are sick. Mine has streph and was running a 103 degree fever last night. Then after 24 hours on antibiotics, he was running around, happy as can be. Talk about miracle drugs!

Don't call it "Therapy", call it "Personal Coaching". That's what I did. It just puts a different spin on it.
