Remington Red Knuckles

Remy told me drew this...but it was really Donny.

I know that.
He knows that.
Donny knows that.

Yet he still lies...

I was reading a post over at the Mama Bird Diaries about names,
and it reminded me of my own child who liked to name himself.

My first son was named after his father...and his grandfather...and his great-grandfather.

So, when the second child came along, we decided to just pick a fun name we liked:

Remington.

Remy for short.

He however, has often chosen to go by other names.
He spent one entire year of his life preferring to be called
Red Knuckles.

After the character from the Sonic video game/comic book.

Then for a while he wanted to be called Homer.

It's a good thing Annie came with a name.
Speaking of Annie, she is having a spa day today...
and I left a disposable camera with the staff with instructions to take photos
of the entire process!!

So, I hope to post on that tomorrow or Friday.

And, after using the Random number generator, the winner of my contest is:

#48

Mama Dawg!

Do your children like to be called anything strange?

Oldest is "pumpkin man." He has deemed Youngest "bootie man."

I imagine once Youngest gets old enough to grasp it, he might have a thing or two to say about that...

Totally AWESOME! I WON, I WON, I WON!

Whoo, hoo!

LOML now likes to BE called LOML! She loves that her blog name was shortened from light of my life to LOML. She sends me e-mail signed that way and write that on the notes and whatnot she makes for me.

My kids don't really have any strange nicknames or like to be called anything strange. They do roll their eyes at me when I get their names all mixed up. My daughter doesn't let me forget when I called her by the cat's name - Socks. The really sad thing is that the cat had been gone for about 2 years at the time!!
Kids can drive you insane at times, but at least you are happy

My eldest likes to go by Bexsie, and my youngest likes Alle. That's her version of "Ali". She loves to spell things phonetically.

When my oldest was born she came out with pursed lips like Betty Boop - so we call her Boopie Lips, or Em Ess Lipps Inc. The little one we call Bubba for some reason, even though she is girlie girl.

My daughter has many different names. I call her Charlie from "All Dogs Go To Heaven" or Jobie. I don't know why, but she always answers me.

The boy wants to be called "green Yoshi" all the time. But, what really cracks me up, is whenever the kids watch a movie, he has to immediately tell everyone "I'm him!" and chose a character in the movie. My girls never did that. So funny.

I don't have spawns yet, but I did manage to influence my bff's kiddo. He started growling/gurgling at me one day at the grocery store a few years back and I said, "Okay, CHEWBACCA. Knock it off."

Chewbacca stuck and now he insists that his full name has "Chewbacca" tacked on the back. Ask him what his name is, and guaranteed, Chewbacca is in there.

Best part is... he's never seen Star Wars. He's a John Wayne fanatic.

I can't wait to hear what my offspring come up with!

Katie wants her name to be Cupcake Levetta. Or wait. Maybe it was Madalyn. Anyway...I don't know how to tell her it sounds like a pornstar name.

My son's name is Cheney, but sometimes he wants me to call him Chris. I have no idea why.....he also likes it when a friend's dad calls him Chainsaw....

I don't know if he likes it all that much but my son Blake - his nickname is Blakenbits (like bacon bits). One of his brothers started calling him that and it stuck. I've even opened an E-mail account with that as his E-mail. Hope he likes it 'cuz it looks like he's stuck with it!

There is Lauren who is often called Laureena Sneenie Eenie. I don't think she likes it.

My Ben (almost 5) loves to pretend to be a mouse and his name has been "Squeaky" for several months now. Even his friends at school and their Moms call him that. Geez.
