The Mushroom Massacre

I can't speak of it...it's traumatic and distressing.


These beautiful mushrooms I photographed earlier this week?


Here they are now...

Someone terminated all the mushrooms!!

Uprooted, smashed,
kicked and thrashed...

every mushroom in the backyard!

However, it's been raining all week...
and more are growing as we speak!

My Mushroom Madness

Taking pictures makes me really happy.

I don't know why.
I don't really question it.

It just makes me happy.

And my latest photo obsession has been with
the multitude of mushrooms growing in the backyard.

They grow so fast.

and in strange little groupings or colonies...

What makes them grow?
Why do they grow in some yards and not others?

I could Google "mushrooms" and figure it out.

But, I kind of enjoy the mystery.

I've heard, as a rule of thumb, that you shouldn't eat mushrooms
that grown in the ground...
but that it's ok to eat the ones that grow on trees.

I'm not rushing to test that though.

I don't like to eat mushrooms.

But, I've discovered that I really love to photograph them.
