Ladies Only

I love the weekend...for so many reasons.

One of them being, it's time for Camera Critters!!

And since my mom has been helping out with the blog this week, guest posting,
I thought I use some of her photos for today.

It's all about the Ladies...

Ladybugs, I mean.

She took these photos in Monterrey, California.

Did you see my mom's post on whales earlier this week?
Awesome photos.

Ladybugs are good luck.
I'm not sure why.

If I saw this many in one day, I'd go buy a lottery ticket!

What do you consider Good Luck?

You know the drill.
Grab a camera, find a critter and join Camera Critters!

Awesome pictures! I used to live out there and most my family still does. It's awesome to see the spring birth migration of swarms of ladybugs. This site tells you concisely about the little ladies. http://www.marchbiological.com/L/ladybug.html

so many ladybugs together kind of creeps me out....oh sure, one or two is cute. But, 100 is a swarm.

Love the photos! My mom calls me ladybug. I bought some ladybugs for my garden once. It was really weird to get live things in the mail like that!

We've had some serius lady bug infestations here... when your house is covered in thousands of them and your walls and ceilings are crawling with them, they lose their charm....

Great shots. There must have been quite a few aphids there, for the ladybirds to feed on.
I have never seen so many of them together.

Holy cow, I don't think I've ever seen that many lady bugs in one spot! I have always heard that they are lucky, too. They are very good for your garden, this I know!

AWESOME photos!!! My luck has run dry lately... may I borrow some of your ladies?

I've never seen so many ladybugs in one place!

Maybe they're considered lucky because they eat so many bad garden pests. Or maybe because they are so pretty.

I know it's bad luck to kill a cricket or a praying mantis. Good luck? Whenever I see a falling star I wish upon it. Whenever I see a puffy cloud, I speak to it. I rub the penny in my pocket at my girls' swim meets...good luck or habit? And I flush ice cubes down the toilet and wear my pjs inside-out when snow is in the forecast--to get the "snow day" off from school, of course!

That's a whole lot of ladybugs.

This totally takes me back to my college days. And no, I didn't go to an all girls' college. Instead, I had MAJOR issues with ladybug infestation in my freshman year dorm room. I HATED it! There was no getting rid fo them. You didn't want to kill them, because they were all cute and LADYBUGS and whatnot. And if you squashed them, they smelled gross. I just hated it! I had TONS of them in my room in every surface. Underwear drawer, window, bed, etc.

Ah, those good ole college days ... Heh.

Ladybug, ladybug fly away home
Your house is on fire and your children are gone
Kind of a depressing nursery rythme - can't remember how to spell that!!
What do I consider good luck?? Finding my hubby.

Ok, that is weird. And freaky. I've got the willies.

Eyelashes falling are good luck. Wait, no, those are for wishing.

Um, 4 leaf clovers?

I want to barf looking at all those ladybugs. Those things are the scourge of the earth. They stink and are nasty. We get swarms of them IN THE HOUSE once a year. They're disgusting.
