A Special Message

I had a dream last night that was so bizarre.

Ok, maybe I should admit that all my dreams are bizarre.
My mind works in weird ways, my dreams are vivid and weird.
But you already knew I was little strange.

Anyway, in this dream, I knew I had to find this sand castle to rescue two princesses.

I found this castle easily, because the two princesses were really smart
and left a trail of lemon drops for me to follow.

Inside the sand castle were a bunch of weird alien frogs,
and they asked me,

To which I answered, "Of course, don't you?"

And they replied that they did not.

So, I sat down on a giant toadstool and shared my dreams with them.

And in return, they gave me the two princesses,
which was a good thing, because it was both of the princesses' BIRTHDAYS TODAY!!

Princess Jen has a handsome Prince Jeff Charming who let me know today was her special day.
So, it's a good thing I was able to rescue her and return her to her four little ones.

And, I figured out it was also Princess Shannon's birthday also!!
Thank goodness her two little ones didn't know she was missing!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Shannon!!

So, do me a favor and go leave them some birthday comment love.

Jen is at Buried with Children
and
Shannon is at The Nut House

Have any of you had any special birthday events you'll never forget?

My most memorable would be my 30th birthday (only a year and a half ago)
where my mom took me to California.
We stayed in Monterey, explored Carmel & Big Sur.
Saw mommy and baby seals,
and made me fall in love with that area.

I have very strange and vivid dreams, too.
My 30th birthday sucked, big time. Other than that, the only b-day that stands out is my Sweet 16. My parents made that very nice for me.

I spent my 30th in the ICU with Graham... bummer of a comment eh??

How cool of Jen's husband to do this! I forgot to use her picture though... oh well...

Happy birthday girls! Hey Rhea, the top of that castle looks a little phalic-like, don't you think? LOL!

My favorite birthday was my 21st. Jimmy surprised me with a vacation to Key West!

Look at how creative you got with the birthday wishes! I just pouted. And wailed. And lamented. There might have been gnashing of teeth. :-)

Memorable birthday? Well...it's been forgotten before. And recently, we have been either at the beach, driving to the beach, or returning from the beach so no big deal has been made about it.

Dreams are dreams and always very odd. Or to me they are. Great post and blog. I'll wish Miss Jen a very merry birthday.

My 30 rocked... big dinner with lots of family and friends in San Diego (where we were living at the time)... there were about 16 of us, and as we were sitting there about to order, someone started singing "happy birthday" behind me... I thought it was a co-worker who said they weren't sure if they'd be able to come, but I turned around and it was my Mom!! She'd flown in from MInnesota and TOTALLY surprised me. That was the best birthday.

I have high hopes for this next birthday though too.

Not even 9:30 here on the East Coast and I've already commented on BOTH their blogs. I am so ahead of the game that I won't need Conway to sing me to sleep tonight.

And I won't have wacky dreams like you. That's kind of sad.

Hey, I'm almost 34. Do I say I'm in my early 30's, or have I progressed to my mid-30's? Our friendship depends on your answer, Rhea. Just so you know.
p.s. Got "The Fire" yesterday. Woooo!

Happy Birthday to your friends!! How nice that you put up their pictures all decorated. I'll be expecting a real major fuss next month. ;)

Wow, I had a very bizarre dream last night. I usually awake when hub is getting ready for work but not this morning.
I was at a family dinner at a Korean restaurant. We had ordered drinks, I got wine and was recommending one to someone in our party. The owner comes up behind me, puts his arms sort of around me from behind to fill up my glass of wine and starts whispering something in my ear. When I realized what he was trying to say I got very hurt. He was telling me that because we were not a full blooded korean couple, we were not welcomed at the restaurant. He called it something, but I can't remember the weird term he used. So I had him sit down and I started to talk to him about it all.
Woke up right about at that part.
Strange, huh?
Hubby is half Korean, and me, Irish and German. So we're like the united nations over here, but dang, our money is totally American and good in all restaurants. LOL

As a birthday gift a few years ago, hubby took me to a concert that was on my actual birthday. Aerosmith and Lenny Kravitz. Now that was FUN!!!!

Great way to announce a birthday, or two!
I want to be a wordsmith when I grow up. As well as a photographer, a fantabulous crafter, a super wife.........

I've got some work to do...

Your dreams sound as weird as my dreams! haha Lets see--nothing too exciting happens on my birthday but hopefully I have many more to come so maybe something great will happen!

Jen said...

Thank you so much. Wow, that was some dream. I will try and not invade them again. ;)

Is it only me that thinks those castle towers look vaguely phallic ?? Just saying ...

Yes, I have really weird dreams. Some are also vaguely prophetic, which is a little disturbing, because I'm not sure whether I believe them.

The last one was really odd. Two Friday's ago, I had this dream that Dale Earnhardt Jr had driven his car up this giant letter C and crashed, injuring himself critically.

Later that day, in the first practice, he had a blown engine. In the second practice he crashed and totalled his race car. Then in the Talledaga race, the next day, he was involved in a specatacular crash at the end of the race, that in all probability, critically injured his chance for the championship. He also crashed in a freak accident, in te last race. Weird, huh !!!

Birthday.... sadly, nothing really exciting happens on my birthday. I just get another year older.

Great post Rhea!!!! No specific bday stands out but that's not bad because they're all pretty good. I share the same exact day with my best friend so we do something special each year. Exactly 2 weeks from today actually.

Loved the post Rhea, as usual! Sounds like your 30th was great, mine is in December and I hope it is memorable as yours :)

That Jen has one sweet husband. So Happy Birhtday to her and to Shannon. This was a great post. Can't believe you can even type today. I saw you everywhere yesterday and on SO many peoples top 5 lists...(mine included!)

I have odd dreams too and, like you I remember every detail. On my 16th b-day my parents gave me two pairs of boots, one my mom picked out and one my dad picked out. I didn't know you picked which. They told me to keep the one I liked the best. I couldn't because I didn't want to hurt either of their feelings...

That was one heck of a dream you had. I rarely have dreams I remember, but now it seems like I'm missing out. Thanks so much for your help making Jen's birthday a special one.

When I turned 34, my husband had a surprise twinkie party for me. Instead of Birthday cake we had hundreds of twinkies for all the guests. We also went outside and launched twinkies across the lawn and tried to hit a target. It was really fun!

What an interesting dream... I never made it by here yesterday during the SITS-a-thon, but I got here as soon as I could today. Saw you listed soooooo many times as one of people's fave fives. I can see why :) I'll definitely be back.
Hey, I'm from Texas, too. Northeast of Dallas. Are we close?

My 29th was my best. My husband proposed in a Japanese garden while we were living in New York. I had absolutely NO IDEA. It was amazing. Other than that, no big memories.

Your birthday dreaming in behalf of these lovely princesses is pure magic!

My birthday memory: on my 54th, my husband gave me a surprise party! No one had ever given me a surprise party before. It was very special.

I am not surprised you cherish the memory of that Big Sur trip. That is an unforgettable part of the world. I lived in San Francisco for 12 or so years and I have such rich memories of drives along the rocky California coast, including a camping trip with the kids.

Wow! I can't believe that you remember so much of the detail! I do remember that I dream in color because I remember some of the color details...

Best birthday...well, not the best, but I remember my 21st started out with a singing telegram guy and ended with a stripper. Crazy times in Austin, TX !!

I LOVE that sandcastle picture!
My only strange recurring dream these days is that I travel around with the Dr. from Dr. Who. I think my husband is jealous.
