Have you ever had deja vu? It's weird, isn't it? I think those are moments where we're doing something we've done before, but our memories forgot but our brain remembers. Hence the disorientation yet familiarity of the moment. Or it's just a brain fart. An electrical misfire.
I have a memory from my childhood where I found a package of razors (not knowing what they were) and was playing with them, which caused me to cut up my fingers. Did this really happen? Did I dream it? I have many moments like this...
I'm not the only one, right?
Then there are the memories that I confuse with my little sister. Some things she thought were hers, I thought were mine. We can't both be wrong...right?
The kids make fun of my lists. I have to make lists to remember everything.
My theory is that so much of my brain is devoted to the children that it leaves little leftover for other things. Right. Sounds good. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
I asked Remy what he thought brains looked like. He answered, "Big pink things."
I agree, Remy, I agree.
My Brain wriggled at this point (which kind of tickled), shaking awake, and decided to speak up, "No, we are only big and pink sometimes. We can also take on other forms."
Then she proceeded to jump out of my head all Athena-style and turn into She-Ra, the Princess of Power.
For some reason, this didn't phase me at all. I guess because it's my brain, and I know what its capable of.
After she used duck tape to fix the hole in my head, my She-Ra shaped brain got very bossy.
She-Ra Brain: I like the Sudoku puzzles you feed us but all these smutty books are too much junk! We need to read some real Literature, more Latin, or textbooks on Chemistry. When are you going to finish your college degree?
Me: (defensively) Hey, I've completed 90 hours of coursework and made the Dean's List, don't lecture me on education.
She-Ra Brain: You spend way too much time withdrawn inside your head.
Me: Excuse me? So what if I do.
She-Ra Brain: You need to get out more and make friends. Spend more time DOING things rather than thinking about things.
Me: (thinking flattery will get my somewhere) But, with a kick ass brain like you, why would I want to get out more?
She-Ra Brain: More brain food would be nice too. You know, like veggies and stuff. Don't argue with me. Don't make me go all Princess of Power on you.
Yes, my brain just threatened me. I thought I could sink no lower.
Wait, I'm arguing with myself, aren't I? Is this pointless? Am I losing my mind?
Hey, Brain, do you have any pull in the hair department? I could use a little help there. Less frizz would be nice. Hey, Brain, where're ya goin'?
Anyone know how to put my She-Ra Brain back inside? I think she just took off on her flying horse...
What form does YOUR brain take? Does it have any complaints?

Well of course my brain has got complaints, but I rarely listen to it. NOt like you, who has a friggin' conversation with hers and thinks it's pink!
Justine :o )
Anytime you want to come see Norway you just let me know... My doors are open! Thanks for the bloggy love on my SITS day! : )
My brain takes form in the way of Princess Elizabeth II, as a child...a very spoiled, bratty child who demands everything to be only HER way.
I knew when I was reading your post that I was in danger because I actually understood it!
In my opinion She-Ra is the Master of The Universe, so it's pretty cool that your brain takes her form!
Rhea-Ra, Master of Her Universe!!!
My brain likes to hang out in the gutter. Cause it's going all Seinfeld after reading the above comment...
My brain sometimes acts like the Energiser Bunny on speed. Jumps around all over the place. I get exhusted just trying to keep up with it..
I really need to start doing lists as well, that way I can remember some of the random thoughts that it spews out while taking huge bounds from place to place.
It's really, really annoying at nght, when I'm trying to sleep. it's like a naughty 2 yr old, it just won't co-operate and go to settle down !!
You're too much! I know what you mean about getting old memories confused. I grew up thinking I went to Mt. Rushmore as a child but it was just NH where there was a little Indian statue at the top of a mountain. Also, I spend so much time on the computer and of course doing control Z for "undo" that sometimes I expect to do this when I make a mistake away from the PC. For a brief moment, in my head, I say undo as if that's going to help.
My brain is so full of my "to do" list that I can barely do a Soduko puzzle. I give up after a few minutes because I couldn't be bothered to finish it. I worry about working after staying home because my brain is such a mommy brain.
I'm always surprised by how my childhood memories differ from my brother's and sister's: the same exact events of our childhoods, interpreted three very different ways.
My brain takes the form of Shoeshine Boy. I thought everyone's did. I was astounded to learn that yours takes the form of She-Ra - your brain could totally kick my brain's ass. :D
My brain always goes off on tangents and cracks me up. Kinda a cross between Lizzie McGuire and JT on Scrubs, if you know what I mean.
At the moment, my brain is looking like a puddle .. everything's all mixed together and confuzzled. I think some of it may have dripped out of my ear at some point. I'll let you know when things in the upstairs become a bit more .. solid? :o)
Good luck getting She-Ra back .. now that she's out, you may need to use chocolate to persuade her back in. And her being a princess, she'll probably demand some high priced, fancy shmancy chocolate. Whereas my brain would come home for a Hershey's bar .. oh, who am I kidding? She'd come running for chocolate milk, cause she's cheap and easy ;o)
My brain takes on the form of a crazy person w/duct tape over their mouth. I have all these thoughts to get out all the time, but the tape over my brain's mouth keeps them from getting out.
What that means, I don't know. My brain won't let me say.
Oh I have some serious brain farts all the time, if it isn't in writing do not assume I will remember to do it, which reminds me I have forgotten to call someone for hubs. Must do it now!
Hubs and I dream of a day we can own a house will alot of property.
I am not sure what form my brain takes. . .I'll have to think about that. But it doesn't sleep much, that's for sure. And it spends way too much time imagining how things should be and what I need to do. It would tell me to do more doing and less thinking too. For example, we are getting ready to do an addition on our house and I have thought about it so much I sometimes think I'll go into that part of the house to get something or put something away and then remember it's not there yet!
It's crazy how your brain can think something is fact when it may not be.
I can't get past your She-Ra reference...because I loved her. LOVED her so much. And you are beyond cool for even mentioning her.
Didn't you want her to get it on with Ram-Man, or one of He-Man's other dudes? Seriously.
sometimes my brain feels like those turtles on the commercial. I think their name is The Slowskys.
Then sometimes my brain takes on the form of a ninja. Those days are few and far between.
Occasionally it takes on the form of Willy Wonka.
Wow!! Right now, my brain is fried. I think I celebrated my win a bit too much:-)
I've had deja-vu quite a few times ... the last time was about 2 years ago when I started working for my new company ... I swore that I had seen or dreamt about the mentor assigned to me before ... he was all too familiar to be a total stranger ... weird.
Princess of Power!
This post is cracking me up... I love the way your brain works/wriggles.
My brain and I aren't on speaking terms.
I hope to be again some day... :-)
I like to think of my brain as Nasa's mission control, except now it's just a fat and bloated bureaucracy, rudderless and adrift.
My brain is way too fried to have any real opinion about anything.
lol thanks for the comments! :)
I think my brain died a while back and is just kind of floating around, bumping into my skull now and then.
my brain is just confused most of the time. I am walking around in this constant state of huh?
I loved She-ra as a kids. Loved that show.
My brain...(wait, what was I saying)!
Yeah, it's like that for me a lot. It's crazy. Sometimes I can remember things as if it happened yesterday and some things I don't ever remember happening that happened for 6 months str8. It's crazy!
My brain is sort of like Eeyore (no clue how to spell that--haha) "thanks for noticing" kind of attitude! And I was She-Ra when I was little.
LOL! I spent so many hours as a child being She-Ra. Great post. About Butch...he's 8lbs...and he wears a spiked collar...and he thinks he's a rottweiler. The credit is all my daughter's. :)
I love deja-vu even though it also kinda trips me out. Oh but I love the movie have you seen it?
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Your blog is fabulous I'm glad I stumbled upon it.

"Don't make me go all Princess of Power on you"
I so want to steal this and make it my new catch-phrase!
I SO agree with Karen! My doc told me to take Zanex (Sp?) at night, not because I am depressed or anything but to make my brain slow down! It goes nuts at night and will not listen to me at all! :) I used to live in The Colony by the way. I don't think that is TOO far from you.

oopsie, sorry for the double post. My brain made me do it. lol
>>I have a memory from my childhood where I found a package of razors (not knowing what they were) and was playing with them, which caused me to cut up my fingers. Did this really happen? Did I dream it? I have many moments like this...<<
Okay, I am officially freaked out. I have this EXACT same memory and whenever I think about razor blades, I start rubbing the fingers of my left hand together. I started doing that without even thinking when I read this post. In my case, I think it's true. My older sister was in beauty school when I was little and used to cut people's hair in the basement. I think I got into her razor blades and cut my fingers up. I'm left handed, so it most likely would have been my left hand.
But I was a very young child, so the memory isn't very clear. I think that's why it has kind of a dream-like quality to it and no one else in my family can confirm to me if it actually happened or not. I think it must have or it wouldn't have made such a big impression on me. But it's weird to hear that someone else has this same memory. Cue the Twilight Zone music....
You're tagged ... you're it ... my brain made me do it !!!
Come on over and play :-)
My brain is like, like, like um little.
Totally fabulous!
I love She-Ra.
My brother and I used to play He-Man and She-Ra when we were little. Tee hee.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Imma bookmarkin' y'all! :p
Every time I have deja vu I think of the Matrix! lol
She-Ra rules! Wow, that took me back old school style. lol
My brain is always tryting to remind me of what it was thinking. What were we just talking about? lol
~melody~
My brain is in a constant state of annoyed. I can move from thought to thought in a nano-second and switch tasks equally as quick. It can't keep up most of the time and then it goes into shut down mode and that's when the real trouble begins.
