My Car's gone Ghetto.

Did you know that the word "Ghetto" originated from the 1600's
when Jews were forced to move and live on an island near Venice, Italy named Ghetto?

I try to stay current with the hip slang my 13-year-old son uses,
so not only can I communicate with him,
but also I can attempt to be a somewhat cool mom.
Or a dorky mom trying to be cool...

You get the idea.

Anyway, my new-to-me car that I bought two years ago...is now ghetto.

It didn't start out that way.
But somehow, in the last two years that I've had it,
it's gotten a little banged up and the paint job doesn't look so good.

OK, I'll come clean,
one bad decision to make a left turn across three lanes of on-coming traffic
and another car hit me
There.
I said it.
I'm ashamed, yes.

The peeling hood...
I'm not sure why that's happening, but someone told me it was from hail damage.
Because the peeling started in perfect circles.
Now it's graduated into full-blown acne.

The car runs great, holds 8 seatbelted passengers and it wonderful...
but yes, it looks a little ghetto these days.

It could be much worse.

What about you?
You have anything ghetto in your posession?
Do you try to be cool for your kids?

I would say my back patio is ghetto. It used to look pretty, but the sofa-swing thingy is looking droopy. My fake-rattan chairs are slowly losing the rattan. The weeds peak out between the slabs of cement. Yes, it is definately ghetto!

Actually my car is ghetto too. Like yours it didnt used to be ghetto, but since I have owned it my husband has backed into it and the security is messed up and it thinks its been stolen every now and again. BUT, its paid for and it gets good gas mileage, so I keep it!

My back porch, right now... It's where I've let a few things really pile it, waiting for their final home in the either the workshop or craft shop -- I just close my eyes as I go by the window... [hanging head in shame]... The car might just have a paint problem... I had a Voyager van that just started peeling across the top and it turned out a lot of Voyagers had the peeling paint problem 'cause the mfg got a deal... If it's only two years old, I'd contact them... should be covered...
