I don't know what I've gotten myself into.
I'm going to a secretive women's weekend this summer...where I'll be spending an intense 48 hours "examining my life" and "reclaiming parts of myself that have been lost, suppressed or misused."
I'm hoping it doesn't involve dancing naked around a bonfire.
It might be difficult.
It might be meaningful.
It might be unsettling.
I had to sign a contract in blood and tattoo the secret password on my butt...and the map to the secret location will be revealed to me in a public phone booth after I dial the encrypted number I find in a newspaper ad...oops, I've said too much.
No jewelry.
No make-up.
No alcohol or drugs.
No cell phones.
No iPods.
No contact with the outside world!
But, we are encouraged to bring drums and rattles.
I have no idea what I've gotten into...I'm scared!!!
Don't worry...I won't drink the Kool-Aid!

Sounds like something that popped up in Southern Cali in the late 70s...be careful, love!
It ought to be interesting if nothing else. They will probably make you give yourself a new name a la Artemis the Amazon!
Have fun! Let us know you survived.

OHHH Interesting and brave thing to do. any time you leave your comfort zone it takes courage. Glad you are up to it. Can't wait to find out what kind of insites you get.

It's going to be a great journey where you get rid of all the shoulds and should nots of people trying to confine you in their space... have a great time and tell us all about it... (well, what you can, that is...) but, please, don't mock it... it's a journey you've never made before... but, it's a journey, nonetheless, and you will gain from it...

ROFL - oh, they all differ and they are all what you make of it.
I did a Reiki course a few years back and for about 2 weekends a year, we'd have a Reiki weekend at my teacher's beautiful and peaceful farm. My husband always said we had mass, lesbian orgies in the trees and danced around in the nude every night... with sticks. I tried explaining that I get far too cold to go around dancing naked under any moon and mass orgies are just not on, especially not in the trees and we are not all woman... He told me to stop spoiling his fantasies.
