Fine Print

I have great appreciation for masterpieces of all sorts.

This dude just finished reading Plato and is feeling philosophical.

This rhino is more of a die-hard Tolstoy fan.

She can't decide whether to translate Homer's Illiad or Odyssey.

This Meercat plans to enjoy Dante's Inferno after lunch.

The giraffe prefers Shakespeare, an unlikely pairing.

I caught the elephant reading the Bible.
You just never know.

This kangaroo? Really into a historical romance.
I kid you not.

What are some of your favorite masterpieces?
Literature, art, music?
Science, math?

How about the grand masterpiece of them all...
NATURE?!

All the critters especially.

Okay, I have to tell you a funny setup in one of the animals' pens about the last time we went to the Forth Worth Zoo.

You know how the zoo keepers give the animals toys...perhaps a chimp will get a jungle gym and maybe a hippo will get a tether ball....well, down in the elephant's pen was a bright, shiny, metal...KEG. I kid you not!

Those are great photos, Rhea !!

Can't secide which is my favourite, I like them all. :-)

I think my favourite masterpiece is ... NATURE !!

It really does combine all the elements you mention..

You can find music, art, science and so on, in Nature, if you just look and listen ..

Wrong. Look at the first one more closely. With that beard he could only be reading Bakunin or Marks.

I had no idea that zoo critters are so literary. Or maybe its your zoo? Our zoo's critters mainly stare off into space. We need to get them a library maybe?

Such a neat variety of animals to photograph. We don't have zoos here and I'm not particularly fond of them but sometimes it's kind of interesting to see what's inside of them.
Your post was quite delightful and definitely put a smile on my face!

I've always loved rhinos .. even as a kid I was fascinated by them. Probably because they are tough yet seem very calm all the time.

I can almost imagine the meercat cuddling up with some Inferno. It would of course read it in Tuscan being a purist and all.

Hi, I just joined camera critters after looking at your photos, they are great!! I wish we had a zoo here, we do have a wildlife park, but it's not quite the same!

That's one great collection of critter photos!!

I'm a little bias towards the kangaroo - not only is this a terrific shot, it's one critter I actually get to see in my local environment :) (not that I've managed to capture a shot of one like this!)

I love the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. I don't just mean the art inside the museum, but the actual building. I've walked past there many times and been in awe of its modern . I love all things ultra modern, urban and elegant. I think the Guggenheim is a wonderful example of urban, modern and elegant all rolled together.

Thanks for visiting my blog and welcoming me to SITS.

So...with your crazed work schedule...what are you reading these days??

I have been reading lots of escapist romances. But I am about to start "The graveyard book" - Neil Gaiman's latest.

Crap, hit enter too soon.

I love how the books actually do match up with the looks on their faces or the way they're standing.
