10 Reasons Why You Should NOT Blog

I've had this blog for three years now.
So, am I a veteran blogger
Not necessarily,
but I have learned a lot in these three years.

And there are definitely reasons you should NOT blog.

1. You open yourself up to the crazies.
2. You realize you yourself are crazy.
3. You open your parenting to criticism.
4. You realize your parenting needs criticism.
5. Your family discovers things about you that perhaps you didn't mean to share.
6. You realize your family and friends don't even bother to read your stuff.
7. You realize you don't have much to say.
8. You realize you don't have anything good to say.
9. You realize no one cares what you say.
10. Your kids discover you're talking about them in an online forum and freak out.

That being said,
there are a ton of reasons you should blog, blog, blog
and never stop.

1.It's a great creative outlet
2. You can connect with amazing people
3. You learn more about yourself
4. You learn more. Period.
5. You can share your life with family and friends you rarely have time to communicate with.
6. You have something to refer back to, like a scrapbook, to remember events and moments in your life.
7. It's a great forum to make a statement or share a message.
8. You connect with the world in a new way.
9. It's fun, fun, fun
10. Did I mention it's fun?

Great post. I'm glad my kids are 4-legged and don't use the internet... :)

Cool lists :-) Fortunately, my kids are all 10+ so I generally ask them before I post photos of them (especially the teens) in case their friends see them.

I've only met one crazy so far, and he has also commented the same thing on other blogs. Everyone else has been friendly and wonderful!
My family doesn't mind me telling stories on them. No one has gotten mad yet and I hope it stays that way.

Stopping by from SITs to congratulate you on your feature day! The good reasons for blogging definitely outweigh the bad ones I think :)

I have been off and on blogging for about 3 years. I initially started blogging because friends and family encouraged me to. I used to write fun and crazy e-mails. Well, after I started my blog, I stopped sending those e-mails. And now I have a hard time finding the time to blog.....go figure

I love #4. I try to hide the disappointed sour face when someone (like my MIL) says "You have a blog?"

Amen! It's therapy, scrapbooking, and journaling a family history all rolled into one!

So, so true! Hope your SITS day was wonderful. Not sure if it's today or was yesterday. I think the dates are off somehow on my computer...

Very fun ... and I think I'd include those on my lists, too! Especially the one about connecting with far-away family.

Enjoy your SITS day!

Great list. I don't even think my family (except my 2 daughters) or friends even know I have a blog :) And I got my daughters permission to talk about them (they think it's pretty cool!)

Happy SITS Day!

Love both lists. Funny thing is, I've never gotten in trouble with my kids for anything in my blog, but they've been upset about things I've posted on Facebook. I think it's because their friends are on Facebook, but don't necessarily read my blog.

Great list! I definitely think the good reasons outweigh the bad ones :)

I've blogged for years, then taken a break, then come back, and I have to agree with you and several others here: The good reasons usually outweigh the bad.

Congratulations on your SITS day!

Congrats on your SITS day! What a fun post. I've had writer's block for the last two weeks - usually happens when I'm stressed about too many things at once. I'm just going to wait patiently until the words start coming again. Because I agree, it's too fun to stop!

I'm especially fond of: "you open yourself up to the crazies" as I just got a mean email today. I'm over it now, but you should have seen me this afternoon!
