The Winter That Never Was

Yesterday evening, my boys were getting antsy.

Bickering.
Bouncing off the walls.

It was time to Get Their Energy Out.

So, we made a trip to Remy's school playground where they can shoot hoops

It was cold.
Just about the coldest it has been all winter.

And the weathermen were teasing us with the possibility of snow.

Snow.

We haven't had a drop of ice or snow all winter.

The boys and I did a snow dance.

Just 1 bad weather day.
That's all we wanted.
JUST ONE!

So we could stay home and enjoy snow.

But, alas, it was not to be.

And now winter is practically over.

(and to think, last winter was snowmagedon!)

Spring Snow Day - Texas is confused

Yesterday was the first day of Spring.

Bradford Pear trees were blooming, birds chirping, the sun shining bright...

and then we woke up to this!!

SNOW!!

Our sweet mild-mannered Annie goes WILD in the snow.

Our weather is bi-polar, but it sure is fun!!!

Let it snow!

Most of my life I have lived in central Texas, where it just really doesn't snow. However, now that I am in north Texas, we have a greater chance of seeing that foreign white stuff. Tonight, the long awaited, highly anticipated event finally occurred!!! My children can't get to sleep. We have to keep looking outside to see if it's still there...to go out in it to make sure we weren't imaging things. It is snowing right now as we prepare for bed...heavily snowing and it doesn't look like it plans on stopping anytime soon!!! YAY!
I plan to get some great pictures in the morning. I can't wait.
