Do You Give Good Phone Voice?

Have you heard yourself on the phone?

Our voices sometimes change.
Mine goes up a few octaves, and I sound like a middle schooler.

I know others whose voices get all polished and smooth..
I know some women whose voices sound downright sultry and naughty.
I know someone who never makes sense on the phone.

Some people can handle the phone, others can't.

I used to fear the phone.
Like panic attack mode if I was asked to deal with the phones at work.

Now, I still get a little nervous, but I can do it!
It's a big accomplishment for me.
I've conquered a fear.

How are you on the phone?
At work, at home?

Does your voice change?

I don't like the way I sound on the phone but others have said I come across very professional and nice and completely different then what I sound like in person.

I personally avoid the phone when I can.

Yay for you and getting past a fear!

Many years ago I was calling around for insurance information and the owner of an agency asked me if I was looking for a job because he said I had a very good phone voice. I went in for an interview and got the job but it turned out to be a rather stressful atmosphere and I quit after a few days. LOL

Yes, I have noticed that my voice does change sometimes depending on who I am talking to.

I'm terrible on the phone. Hate the phone. Not so much because my voice falls apart, though it probably does, but because half the time I can't make heads or tails of what the other person is saying.
Intersting thing about voices changing - it happens when people switch between languages, too. My colleagues don't meerly have an accent in english; their voices are literally different. Mine too!

Never liked the sound of my voice and especially taped... that's why I've been thinking about doing SILENT vlogs... what do you think?... I know a lot of Southern women can be talking to you in a normal, natural pitch, have the phone ring, and the voice goes way up in pitch and accent... always tickels me when I hear it... have a great Labor Day...

I worked on pharmaceutical hotlines for five years, so I sorta got paid for my voice. When I'm on the phone, I have to remember to speak slower than I normally do face-to-face.

Now, I DO hate to HEAR my own recorded voice. But it is nice to know that I do sound good.
