They put me on the phones & I didn't burn down the company

You think I'm kidding?

How does being on the phone have anything to do with burning down a building?

Trust me, if there was a way, I would have figured it out.

Let me set the scene for you.

I was sick.
Pepto Bismal sick.

As in, I had to keep swigging The Pepto in order to keep all my bodily fluids from simultaneously combusting from my body all at once.

I'm at work.
Because I don't miss work.
I've been at the company for over four months, and not missed a single day.

Pretty much the entire office was in meetings.
So the receptionist...and the backup receptionists were all in meetings.

And they put me on the phones.

After my panic attack,
and another two swigs of Pepto...
I was ready to go.

Did you know they record all outgoing and incoming calls?

Someone, somewhere, is laughing at the calls I took.

But, you know what?

I didn't burn down the company.

So it's all good.

And then they made me manager.
hehehe

Congrats on your new position!

What in the world is up with the stomach flu or stomach mess that's been going around. My kids have all passed it to eachother and us. At least my kids love pepto.

Many congratulations on being made manager!
I would say, go out and celebrate, but with a upset tummy.....better hold off on the celebrating!

I hope this was the sickness from a few weeks ago...and not one you are dealing with right now.

But congrats again on the promotion. Very, very cool.

I'm so happy for you! If anyone deserves good things to happen to them - it's you!

I had been at my position for five months before I took my first day off... the day after the tornado. Yeah, I think it's acceptable I took that day off.

Good for you!
I am not one of those never-misses-work people. I wish I were. I'm more of a "I need a personal day once a week" person. (not really but I wish!)

Ugh, are you CRAZY going to work in that condition? But hey, it may have been your determination to stay even though you were green that got you the promotion!

Justine :o )
