Every morning, on my drive to work, I pass fields.
Fields growing crops...and fields with animals.
There's this one field that contains a white horse.
I thought that's all that lived there...
but one day when I finally stopped to take photos,
I found some other critters lived there.

Two Alpaca.

I think it's an awesome idea.
I grew up on a ranch, so I love having animals and land.

But this is the beauty that caught my eye.
My boys named her "Thistle" because the field has tons of wild thistle growing.
She's sweet & friendly.
Yes, yes, Ms. Alpaca, I'm sure you are too...

Is an alpaca the same as a llama? I've worked with the kids at the Houston Livestock Show that show Llamas. They spit all over you. Ew.

ReplyDeleteMy mom owns two alpacas. They are sooo friendly and sweet to the kids.
ReplyDeleteAlpaca's are COOL! YOu should get one. I would like to share custody! I would even pay child support.
ReplyDeleteI crocheted a shawl out of Alpaca hair...it's very warm and soft but can be a tad itchy.

Oh, how I love the critters, great and small, and these are some of the cutest I've seen in a while! Are alpaca generally nice animals? I don't know much about them. Thistle is gorgeous!

Theere are a couple Alpacas at the petting zoo in town... they're our favorites... seriously cute animals..

Thistle looks like the horse of my dreams...and is rather like one I used to ride as a child. Lovely.
